- Hi I'm Dannie, and it's my third year as a student at Tabor Academy. I take the class Advanced Art Major, and this is my blog to use as a source of exploration in art outside of the classroom.
Dannie, although this is a very unusual painting I think that it clearly relates to the Woman painting. Its a little confusing but that adds to its character, I like the color and I wish there was a little more color in areas you wouldn't expect it to be. Your concept is cool. I like that your human is more or less human than his. I enjoy this painting, it makes you think.

I like how the baby/child is looking off into the color but it sitting in darkness. The black smudge on the back of the child is very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI still want a foot or more color to connect to the original genesis of the conversation. The interaction between the black and the gray also bugs me a little. I think with such a minimal composition you have an opportunity to mess around where these two fields of paint meet.
ReplyDeleteI really like the part on the left side of the painting. I love how you painted and the colors that you use for it. I think it looks so much better to see the real painting than through the picture!
ReplyDeleteit looks liek dirt is rubbed on his little back ! and the shadow.dark area is confusing. i think you should have continued with the color that you did n the left. it one of my favorite of yours though! it has good spacial depth
